To begin, I want to start by mentioning that I am part of group two and I say this because this group in my opinion is composed in its majority by good people. People who are responsible, flexible, nonproblematic and most importantly it is a group that has a good and fluid communication and I feel that this is the most important thing and this is the heart of the success we have had as a group ,as well as, the kind of people who make up our group. This was our second project as a group and honestly I have felt very satisfied with both outcomes and with the experience we have had as a group. To continue, my group which is group two did climate change and I was very happy to have had this topic assigned to me because I believe that climate change is what is going to determine if we survive or not as a species. Moreover, I really liked the videos that were presented to us in this climate change presentation because I felt that the videos were very interesting especially about such a...

Last weeks were the presentations of my speech class. It was a good experience like the las time, but this time was too much better. My group talked about climate change, which is an important topic today days. Others two groups talked about Infrastructure group one and Gender inequality for group three.       My group presentations was the second day. I was excited to talk about my topic because I invest a lot of time in the preparation. Everyone did an awesome job, we worked as a team to increase our presentation. I talked specifically  about diseases and disorders caused by climate change on animal health. I started taking a minute to talk about the importance of animals, then I explain the two kinds of effect of climate change explaining in a easy way the topic.    Group 1 was the last group to present. They presented about infrastructure which was an amazing topic because there is a lot of information t...

Jessica Orozco Class Presentations #2 Review!                     Our speech class had our second presentations these last few weeks, and it was another overall good and rewarding experience for our group! Our group #2 had chosen the topic of climate change, group 1 chose the topic Infrastructure, and group 3 chose the topic of gender inequality. I actually really enjoyed learning about these topics since they are all equally super important to talk about and be informed about!           Group 3 was the first group to present and I definitely was not disappointed because their presentation was very informative and interesting! I felt like I had learned and reflected on many things about gender and gender inequality after they were finished. Even the videos they ended up using were very helpful tools for everyone to understand gender inequality and what our society can do to be a li...

Climate Change Blog Review                                                Hanny Cuadra             Working with Group 2 is always a pleasure, every group member often helps once another and finishes their assigned job on time. When the topics were first introduced my first thought was to go with gender inequality, however gender inequality is such a broad topic with a great amount of different layers to go over that I would've never been able to put all into a project and that would've upset.Later on as a group decided to go with climate change which is equally as important and a topic that is often forgotten by the mainstream media. The professor allowed us to pick our topics s...

Climate Change Presentation Review

I really found our Climate Change Presentation very informative and entertaining. I really enjoy working with group 2. I believe that my group works great together and we communicate very well with one another. In order to complete this project, we had to separate into different groups to work on the various portions of the presentation, which consisted of the study guide, the brochure, and the agenda. Then we all had to create our slides and make sure we were prepared to present. Each group had a very unique presentation. Everyone designed them and added their own style to each slide. Especially for this project, the visuals were both fact-based and aesthetic. This assignment required us to research for our topics. My group agreed to work on Climate change. I liked this project because while working on it, we are learning more about our environment and the world we live in. I learned that what we do can seriously affect the ci...

We can say climate change can be a controversial topic to us as a society. Many have ideas and ways we can do as a whole to prevent climate change. Others simply do not understand or don’t care to look into it, which is the honest truth. To be fair, I wasn’t too aware about climate change as I am now after working on this topic with my peers in group 2. I had no clue that something as simple as changing our diet or substituting chicken in place of meat helps with the whole topic of climate change. Many of us simply just understand the concept of “Carpool to reduce emissions.” There is a lot more to climate change and my group and I did a great job finding different ways to prevent climate change and spread awareness to our classmates. Personally, I am glad we got to choose this topic. I’ve learned a lot in just 1-2weeks of research then I had known my whole life. Given my experience, that may tell you that many out there...

SPC1017 - Class Presentation Post 2

Climate change is a hot topic in our social discourse. With many different opinions about what specifically the threat is, in addition to what the long-term solutions are, one thing is certain, we are all being negatively impacted by this. From water to air contamination, to ocean acidification and the melting of glaciers, the ecosystems being defamed are being more noticeable by the year. According to the Climate Communication Program at Yale, it was estimated that about 54% of the general American population believes climate change is real. This is a troubling number even with it being a majority, almost 46% of Americans do not believe in this. This can be because of several factors, some of the main ones being politics and general knowledge on the topic.    The people who either do not believe or are undecided were the specific audience that Group 2 was aiming to educate and persuade. The group focused on 4 sub-topics in explaining climate change...
