“Presentation Blog Kelvin Portales”

 

   I would never have imagined that work in group would be like the experience I had in the group two. I enjoyed being part of this amazing team of people working together in the same way. But not only my group because all the groups did a great job with their presentation, we learned so much from this experience. In my personal case I don’t like to communicate to much because I know that I have some difficulties when I talk in English, but I could at least give some of my knowledge about the topic.  There was a connection between three groups, the first one talk about intercultural communication, second one about communicating in groups and the last one about group leadership and problem solving. 

  



First group did an impressive presentation in an easy way to understand. Intercultural communication is very important because today there are bilateral diplomatic relationship between many countries, without which the economy could be affected. I personally like to learn about new cultures and with this group I learned too much about communication with people from other cultures. 

  With my team presentation I discovered that there are types of groups which I didn’t know about them. Some examples are families, social groups, support groups and interest group. It is funny because the presentation was about groups, and we were working together in groups. Not just learning also putting it into practice. This group had a good dynamic in many aspects, relating the knowledge with the practice. For me the chapter 9 is a general chapter because everybody will have to communicate in group in their daily live, in the work, in the school, with family and friends. Since elementary school we are working as a team and communicating with our classmates, on the other hand, intercultural communication is more specific. I didn’t know about stages of group development, that was completely new for me. It makes sense now; I can see working team from a new perspective. My team presentation was naturally due to the topic we were talking about, we could put in practice what we learned on the way. Having a great interaction as a group was surprising and astonishing to everyone. 

  Third group did an amazing job, but they got the experience from the other two groups, it’s a joke, they were last, but they did the same effort to increase their job as a team and teach us about group leadership and problem solving. I leraned from them what is leadership in a group, because sometimes the role of a leader looks like very easy but the reality is that it is hard many times. Also I realize that the problem of one member is everyone’s problem, this a fundamental principle in a team. I could see how important a leader in a group is, keeping his role up. I could realize that a leader has the most difficult position, because is not about position or be the boss it is about being a person who inspire others and help people to grow up every day as a person and as a leader because every great leader thru the history have formed leaders too. 





  Each group did a great job making their presentations usefully. If I had to value in a word the three presentations will be SUCCESSFUL because at the end we all learned new things which can help us to increase are lives and our future projects as a team. Many people doesn’t like to be part of a group but if they watch and listen this presentations maybe could change their minds. Everyone make the best to give a message thru the presentation, remember it was the first one. Next presentations will be incredible and full of experience. How important is learning new thing

to include not just in this class but in every class, because the college is full of people to create groups and work together  as we learned in this presentations.

      Climate change is a hot topic in our social discourse. With many different opinions about what specifically the threat is, in addition to what the long-term solutions are, one thing is certain, we are all being negatively impacted by this. From water to air contamination, to ocean acidification and the melting of glaciers, the ecosystems being defamed are being more noticeable by the year. According to the Climate Communication Program at Yale, it was estimated that about 54% of the general American population believes climate change is real. This is a troubling number even with it being a majority, almost 46% of Americans do not believe in this.     Working with my team which is team 2 was  a great experience  we was able to connect with each other  we distribute or contact information we created a group chat.from there we was able to move a bit faster.working as a team can be very challenging  but lucky we made it easy.we worked well together each decision we made was very anonymous although  we places ourselves individually when it came to completing our separate part of the presentation. as a team member I believe  that we connected very well on an interpersonal level as all eleven of us was able to make great decisions together. we did not give each other no chance to get upset with each other  Becouse it would create a major conflict. there was an equal amount of work that we all did our contribution was very fair no one was behind.my team members was great at keeping each other informed. everyone in our group got everything on time we did not have to nag anyone to complete work...
