Class Presentations #2 Review!

Our speech class had our second presentations these last few weeks, and it was another overall good and rewarding experience for our group! Our group #2 had chosen the topic of climate change, group 1 chose the topic Infrastructure, and group 3 chose the topic of gender inequality. I actually really enjoyed learning about these topics since they are all equally super important to talk about and be informed about!

Group 3 was the first group to present and I definitely was not disappointed because their presentation was very informative and interesting! I felt like I had learned and reflected on many things about gender and gender inequality after they were finished. Even the videos they ended up using were very helpful tools for everyone to understand gender inequality and what our society can do to be a little more conscious about the topic of gender inequality. Another very important subject that was brought up in their presentation was sexual harassment. I really appreciated that it was talked about because I believe it is an extremely critical topic that people need to be more mindful and aware of! Sexual harassment involves everyone not just one particular gender because anyone could sadly become a victim, or even know a victim of sexual harassment personally. It is a subject that should not be taken lightly and they spoke about it really efficiently and with a lot of careful detail. Group 3 spoke about different gender identities and brought up the LGBTQ+ community as well, which is also something I appreciate a lot! It think it's also important for people to be open minded, respectful, and informed about LGBTQ+ issues and its community.

Our group, group #2, was the second to present our topic. I was really nervous for our presentation but like always I am very proud of our group's team effort once again! Everyone spoke well about their slides and topics, and I believe our videos were able to inform and entertain everyone about climate change. Our group communication overall went well, everyone knew what their job was and everyone was clear about who was doing what. I ended up helping out with creating our presentation brochure and that was super fun for me! I really enjoy working on decorating things and creating digital stuff so it was a job I thoroughly loved to do! Our topic was climate change and since a pretty long time I have always been aware and concerned about the climate change crisis that has been affecting our planet. Although, I had never sat down and actually researched real statistics about the current state of our climate change crisis. Once I started reading and searching for these statistics every single one of them blew me away! The numbers really shocked me, and I was happy that I was able to share this information with my other classmates and group members because of this presentation. Everyone in our group did an amazing job of researching and being detailed about everything that they talked about! One of our group members was unfortunately not able to present, but I do not think that hindered us at all we still finished our presentation and were able to say everything we wanted to touch on in the end!

Group 1 was the last group to present their topic about infrastructure! I also really enjoyed their presentation, I do not know many things about infrastructure but group 1 did an amazing job in being very informative and describing the details about infrastructure. The videos that they used were also really good at explaining the topic of infrastructure. I never realized how important infrastructure is but I am glad I was able to learn all that I could out of their presentation! Infrastructure is embedded into our daily lives and we should be paying a lot more attention to it because it affects everyone, even around the world. It is in our roads, our airports, our schools, and our hospitals so people should stay informed of all of it. In their presentation group 3 also mentioned how in some countries and communities, like the ones in Africa, barely have any access to good quality infrastructure or electricity and how it affects their communities on a daily basis. It really made me realize how even if the United State's infrastructure is not the best of the best, we should all appreciate whatever resources that we do have access to! Infrastructure is truly underrated and underappreciated, and I am glad group 1 had the opportunity to make our entire class more educated about this really important topic.

In the end, I am super proud of everyone and all of the groups in our class. We all put in a bunch of work in order to make our presentations as informational and entertaining as possible! I am also proud of those who put in extra work in our group to create the study guide, brochure, and agenda for our project. Everyone did a great job with an amazing amount of effort. Every group's videos that they added to their presentation was also really interesting and they were all relevant and had a lot of helpful information about all of their topics! I was really satisfied with my experience and everyone's presentations. I am really looking forward to our next projects and experiences together as a class!
